VCO Studio is a residential interior design studio based in Islington, London, founded by Victoria Cox. We work with private clients on renovations, refurbishments and complete furnishing schemes. We also work with estate agents and developers on show homes, marketing suite and preparing properties for market.

Our full-service approach takes a project from the initial brief through to installation. Depending on the scope, this includes space planning, concept design, kitchens and bathrooms, material and finish selections, lighting layouts, bespoke joinery and furniture, and detailed drawings and specifications. We also source furnishings and can manage procurement, delivery coordination and final styling. At the outset, we agree which services your project needs and set these out in a written proposal.
-
We prepare a fee proposal based on the size and complexity of your project, the services required and our level of involvement. The proposal sets out the scope, deliverables, fees and payment stages before work begins.
Design fees are separate from building costs, furniture and other purchases. Procurement and any additional site coordination are clearly identified in our proposal. If the scope changes during the project, we discuss any additional fees with you before proceeding.

Your budget will depend on the property, the extent of the work and the level of finishes and furnishing you would like. A renovation involving new kitchens, bathrooms and bespoke joinery will have different requirements from a furnishing project.
During our initial discussions, we help identify what the budget needs to cover, including design fees, building work, fixtures, furniture, delivery, installation and a contingency. Sharing your intended budget early allows us to assess the scope and make appropriate recommendations.

We focus on home renovations, refurbishments and complete furnishing schemes, working on apartments, townhouses, family homes and pieds-à-terre.
Our projects often combine changes to layouts, kitchens and bathrooms, bespoke joinery, lighting and furnishing. We also work with clients whose homes need a complete furnishing scheme without extensive building work. We primarily work across London and consider selected projects elsewhere in the UK.
-
Yes. We design bespoke joinery and furniture to suit the proportions of your home and the way you use it. This includes wardrobes, shelving, libraries, fitted storage, media units, desks and individual furniture pieces.
We develop the layouts, elevations, materials and finishes, considering practical details such as internal storage and hardware. We then work with specialist makers to develop the design for manufacture and coordinate it with the wider interior.
-
Yes. We regularly collaborate with architects, contractors and specialist trades, whether they are already appointed or join the project later.
We develop the interior layouts, finishes, joinery and furnishing scheme, providing the agreed drawings and specifications to support their work. During the build, we can attend site meetings, review samples and respond to design queries. Our role and the extent of our site involvement are agreed at the beginning of the project.
-
Ideally, involve us before the main layouts and building decisions are finalised. This allows furniture arrangements, storage, lighting, sockets and finishes to be considered together, while changes are still easier to make.
For renovation projects, we can work alongside your architect during the early planning stages. For furnishing projects, an early appointment gives us time to develop the scheme and accommodate supplier lead times, bespoke pieces and window treatments.
-
Yes. Our furnishing and procurement service covers sourcing furniture, lighting, rugs, fabrics, window treatments, artwork and accessories. We can incorporate pieces you already own alongside new, antique and bespoke items.
Selections and costs are presented for your approval before orders are placed. Where appointed to manage procurement, we liaise with suppliers, track orders and coordinate delivery and installation arrangements, followed by furniture placement and styling.
-
The programme depends on the scope of the design, the building work involved and the lead times for selected products and bespoke pieces. A complete renovation will generally require a longer programme than a furnishing scheme.
We discuss your preferred completion date at the outset and establish a programme around the design stages, key decisions, contractor availability and deliveries. We also identify items that need to be ordered early and keep you informed of changes that may affect the schedule.
